I have been enjoying the DAC2 and a pair of SX-1000 driving the power hungry Magnepan 1.7 speakers in a computer based system for about three months. All I can say is WOW!!! I challenge anyone to put together a better system for $7500. Bank for your buck, W4S is KING!!!

Just thought I would let you know just how amazing the DAC sounds with even the stock USB cable, fixed volume and Pure Music running wirelessly through my system - WOW!
Arrived safe and I'm listening to it now. Very pretty. I was using a Benchmark before, which was accurate but sterile. I look forward to how the DAC2 sounds after some break in.
I just wanted to thank you again for providing me with top notch customer service as well as a top notch piece of audio equipment. My DAC2 was waiting for me when I got home and I have been listening to music for about 4 hours now! I have been using my Tascam CD player as a transport via Coax cable. So far I have noticed that all instruments seem to be more separated and I am able to hear things I previously had not in the music. I think I now understand what people mean by micro dynamics!
So I linked the DAC directly to the monoblocks and...wow!!! What a difference! I do really think that my system never sounded so well: detailed, rich bold and open like never before! And believe me, after having passed everything through machines like Mark Levinson, Reference KEF and others for the past years I'm really not easy to be satisfied!
This is the absolute best customer service I have ever seen. I get an answer within minutes!!!! unheard of... And of course you are right; with kernel streaming I can see now the correct sampling rates displayed on the DAC. Running the DAC versus a Tube modded OPPO BDP 83SE in a hurry; volumes adjusted and switching back an forth there is not much to say. Would need much more time to hear a difference if any..... So I guess you have done a pretty good job with that DAC

I am really enjoying the amp. I am not rich but have owned quality amps by Marantz, Parasound and McCormack. The Wyred is superior, especially in bass control, transients and low level details.
Hello, I just got my DAC 2 last week. Am playing from my Onix CD (as transport) and also from my Squeezebox. I had upgraded op amps and put in DEXA D Clock in my Onix so the CD play had very low jitter already but I could here a difference through the DAC 2. More clarity, better bass extension, each instrument is now clearly identifiable with space around each. The big difference was playing Pandora (192khz) through the DAC. Even though it's still mp3, it sounded great. A huge difference from the internal DAC and analog section of the SB. Unbelievable sound. I've got the DAC2 feeding an ELEKIT TU879 6L6 SET tube amp (8.5 Watts) and playing through B&W 803s. I'll be hooking up my 6550 monoblocks back up in a few days so I can tweak the Elekit. I'm sure the already great bass extension will be even better. Highs and mids are also fantastic. No sibilance on the highs; just clean beautiful sound. With vocals, breath and lip sounds are clear and real. Voices amazing. W4S DAC2 was a great investment; and that's from a guy that builds most of his gear! Great product!
Thanks for sending along your absolutely wonderful DAC2 which arrived ahead of schedule a week ago. I have been using it with my Sony BDP set up as transport using an MIT AVT1 Toslink cable. The setup simply aces by a large margin any other digital playback I have had at home, and that includes Naim CD5x, Benchmark HDR, Oppo BDP83SE Nuforce & Oppo BD95. It probably betters other things I have heard but those have not been in my own system so I would not venture an opinion. I love the DAC2's tonal richness and its detail retrieval. Altogether I am very happy indeed with it.
I will say that I have been investing in audio equipment since the mid 70’s and rarely have found a piece of equipment as great a value and game changer than the Dac2. It just plain sounds great. This is my first experience with PC audio and was very hesitant after reading how difficult everyone else seems to think it is. I listen to ten times more music with the convenience of the PC and it sounds better than through my normal transport (Oppo BDP83). Go figure.

Got the new unit and it is working fine. This thing is amazing. Hear cellos vibrate like never before. Hear shakers picked up before they are played. Beautiful image. Bass to the floor. This thing is truly fun.

I would like to address the quality of "service" by the team members of the company: from the beginning, when I ordered a new WYRED 4 SOUND W4S DAC, I was kept informed of its progress and shipping time. Jan is super nice!! I received the unit and was walked through the setup and installation over the phone. Everyone had patience and knowledge beyond what I had expected.
After 200 hours breaking-in, my dac 1 sounds wonderfully live and

It will take me a few more months to save enough money to purchase one of your DAC, so soon I will be able to say thanks for a wonderful product, that I will be truly proud to own for many years to come.
